Data lost need help!!!!!!

Right off the assembly line
hi, i was trying to install Ubuntu 11 ... i made a bootable usb drive and tried it as a live demo ... then as curiosity increased i clicked on install ubuntu icon now it asked me the location and i by mistake selected a drive in which a lot of my data(around 9 gb) was there i clicked on ext3 file system to convert and it all started but in between the battery went off ... and when i started my windows7 again i cant find my g drive ... i used R studios for recovery and it gave me 5.85 gb of meta file now i dont know what to do to get my data back.. can any1 help.....


is there any way to get the data back from here??

Remember:
Always take a safe backup of your important data before installing any operating system (Windows/ Linux).

Regarding your question, I don't think you will get your lost data back in the form as it was, because you have formatted with Ext3 file system making it impossible to recover the data.

If you want to try some other recovery softwares, try TestDisk first. It's a better option that I know.
