Praise / Complaint details : Bought from WS Retail at Rs. 3932. Delivered in 3 days. The HDD was damaged and wouldn't let me create partition and later when connected, windows would hang at loading screen. They can't replace it because the product is out of stock. I had to initiate a refund. The HDD is going for Rs. 4700 now by different sellers.

Would it have been better if I had sent it for RMA?

^^ Yup. Since it has warranty, you should have sent it to RMA.

This is height of getting saved. I was also looking for a HDD at same time and particularly the drive @OP has bought and that also around same date and thought of ordering from FK as here locally it was 4k. But due to sudden problem with cash availability I couldn't order it.
