1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Games, May host minecraft server, Photoshop, Basic tasks(music, browsing, office)

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 30k. Not going to extend.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Occasional

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: N/A

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Already having a 1080p monitor.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Reusing HDD, Cabinet(Zeb Bijli), Monitor, DVD Drive

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: ASAP

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Does it matter? :p

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Hyderabad. Open to online shopping.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: This is for a friend who fried his PC, thanks to Zeb PSU. He prefers AMD, but not quite a problem. He has thought of:
MSI 970A-G46, Corsair CX500W, MSI R7770 PowerEdition OC, Vengeance 1866MHZ 4GB*2.
Should he select 8GB RAM or a better card? 8GB RAM may help when hosting server, but not sure how much will it be effected.

yah, it matters. we dont want to scrape you off the wall, after you blow yourself up, having inserted the plugs the wrong way. :)

nice choice. 7770 rules its range atm, so, stick with it, and go for 8 gb ram. what about CPU? which cpu? I suggest trying to get hold of the older phenom stocks (and try and get a discount that way) else, FX series, it is.

Its for my friend so I won't be exploding.

He said FX6100 I believe. How is it? Will GTA V and minecraft server (with minecraft client & 3 players from other computers) work smoothly on it?

Why OC in the first place ? For fun or he think he will need the extra cycles ?
Not OCing can save him some cash and invest the same in a better GPU.

Gta V's expected 'recommended system requirements' state a quad core. FX6100 has 6.

Nipun, have a look at the feedback in different forums about MSI Motherboard you've chosen. It's VRM design is considered as Catastrophic Disaster by the community and in fact couple of months back it was mentioned itself in the Motherboard Product page that the board isn't suitable for any kind of overclocking.

Better go with the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 @ 5.6K which offers better quality VRM design. For Processor, consider FX 8120 instead of FX6100.

Hi Cilus
Yeah i am aware of the VRM issue on the MSI board. But i wouldnt be fiddling around with voltages so much so that it would cause an issue and also the FX6100 is rated at 95w max TDP which is quite low compared to 8120 and 8150 (both 125w). So do u think it would still be an issue? Cause the MSI is a better packaged mobo compared to Gigabyte apart from the VRM issue which i think wont affect me. Ohh btw 8120 is out of my range. I would rather go for a better GPU maybe 7850. Can i get a 7850 2gb for under 13k. Found this on flippy but its out of stock damn :(
