Hello everyone

I need your expert opinion. I'm confused between buying a Netbook or Tablet.

I'll use it for web surfing, music, videos, pictures mainly.

I'm unable to take decision which one should I go for?

Please suggest me whether I should go for a netbook or Tablet. Also which brand and model would you prefer?

Thanks in advance. :)

1st of all, whats your budget?
and for how long do u plan to keep the netbook/tablet?
if surfing is primary ...it'll involve a lot of typing i'd suggest getting a netbook

Look out for Notion Ink Adam. Looks promising. releasing by Christmas or New year.
site: Notion Ink - Adam
blog: notionink.wordpress.com

nearly $ 498 for the top model and much better than a netbook. Has PixelQi, so outdoor use also. The tablet has some very innovative concepts behind it.

^^ I've been actually waiting for that thing since January. People actually hoped that it will release by July!!!

I think portability and good performance is your primary concern. Laptops aren't that portable and Netbooks don't perform well. AMD's Nile platform seem to bridge the gap between the two offering a good balance of portability and performance (better than Intel Atom).

I'll actually suggest a notebook based on the AMD Nile platform - HP Pavillion dm1a / dm1z series (25k) - The HP Pavilion DM1a review and spec - *www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPEaK6Ab2II

Toshiba T235D is also a good option - *www.anandtech.com/show/3862/toshiba-t235d-amd-2010-ultrathin (25k)

Both the options are portable than a laptop and much stronger than Intel Atom based netbooks.
I don't really have much idea about the Tablet notebooks and the iPad.

amd's nile platform suggested by ico is your best bet

if you're gonna keep it for a long time , and you're gonna type a lot

my personal experience is, tablets are not that good to type - fast or for a long period..
but if the above 2 criterias are not in consideration then consider a tablet
take a look at samsung galaxy tab

Ok guys. Thanks for the suggestions. I have decided to go for Tablet.

But I'm again confused between iPad and Android Tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab or others). Which one is better? What are pros and cons in using iPad over Android tablet and vice versa?
