Hello,

my friend has given me the task of building a good PC for him under 40k. i have the following configuration in my mind. monitor and speakers are not needed.

Corsair vx450 - 3.8k
NZXT Gamma - 2k
500GB WD Hard disk - 2.5k
Transcend 2x2GB DDR3 1333MHz - 5.5k
DVD Writer - 1.1k
Logitech Wireless Desktop MK250 - 1.4k (he needs a good Wireless keyboard and mouse for distant usage)

the total sums to be around 16.5k.

now the turn of processor, graphic card and motherboard.

Gigabyte GA-MA785GT-UD3H rev. 1.3 motherboard - 5.2k (he needs a crossfire enabled motherboard)
AMD Phenom II 965 - 9k
MSI HD 5770 - 9k

so the total is 39k.

please review it and give some suggestions. :)

moreover, if Phenom II X6 1050T is launched at the rumoured price of 10k, then my friend can wait and buy it if it is worth.

well its a good config.... take a 1 tb hdd in place of 500gb.... seagate barracuda 7200.12 1 tb sata @ 4k.... but please tell about usage needs of your friend.... then we would all be able to suggest better....

phenom II *6 1050t is definetly worth the wait if you have ample time.... but i suggest you going with amd phenom 2 965....

he needs a gaming rig with a scope of future upgrade. regarding hard disk, 500GB is enough for him. please also suggest a good UPS. :)

so here goes your gaming rig....

Phenom II X2 555 3.2GHz B.E @ 5.2k
Biostar TA785G3 HD @ 4.3k
Sapphire HD5850 1GB GDDR5 @ 15.8k
kingston 2*2GB DDR3 1333MHz C9 @ 5.5k
Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB @ 3.2k
Corsair VX550W @ 4.7k
NZXT Gamma @ 2k
APC Back - UPS BR 800Y-IN @ 5.2k ==> price from lynx

total:-45.9k....

why crossfire???? the above given gpu is good enough to play all latest titles.... you can use hybrid crossfire to use your discreet gpu and the in built hd 4200 simultanously(although its of no big use).... if you want crossfire, get ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO @ 6.3k or msi 790gx-g65 @6.5k.... to lower the price, get 2 gb memory and get 2 gb more later on.... if serious gaming is the purpose, then i dont suggest you on going with a lower card but otherwise you may opt for MSI HD5770 HAWX 1GB GDDR5 @ 10.2k....

total:- 38.5k....

phenom 2*2 555 has a very high chance of unlocking to phenom 2*4 955

if he wants gaming, its better go for non-crossfire board and get a powerful single GPU. multi GPU setup from AMD not very efficient.

nice config. well excluding the UPS from the config will bring it at 40k. moreover 800Va not needed. 650Va will suffice.

also if crossfire, better 790GX or 790X. the Asus crossfire works at X16 + X4. means 1 GPU working at full speed & another at 1/4th speed. ultimately the user will suffer.

for mobo i'll suggest little better if purchasing X2 555 & HD5850. something like MSI 785G E53 will be better.

at first post he just mentioned 40k. & he needed only the cpu stuff. he added UPS later. so 40k for cpu + extra for UPS if his friend wants.

also X6 won't increase performance in games. not enough to consider it. better go with what u suggested. X2 555 + HD5850. moreover X2 will unlock to X3. surely. maybe X4 as well.

@robin
if ur frnd is only willing to play games then 555BE is the best option
better go for 785 based mobo (at least)
if possible then go for 790gx

plz do mention the monitor max resolution so that we can recommend a suitable graphic card
