Computer freezes!!!

Hello ppl,
I have a strange problem with my comp. It freezes. What happens is esp during downloads is, I schedule dloads at 2am. Dloads start and go on. At some point of time my comp freezes. Its not in standby, but no HDD light flickering, no dloads nothing. Just HDD running. I have to activate it by touching the mouse again. Ex today this happened and the CPU time was stuck at 3:54AM when it was 6AM. i donno wats the problem and the cause but it has happened on a few occasions. It has also happened once during cd ritting. No spywares and i update Avast regularly. Donno the reason also.

Pls help!!!

Maybe its Hibernation that's doing that sort of a thing?

disable the power management
In XP go to control panel and then to power management there set the time to turn of HDD to never and other options to never too.
Post wether it helped or not
