Comparision b/w i3, A8, i5.

Hello everyone i am planning to buy a laptop in few days and i need your advice related to processors i.e. which one is better and why (i3, A8, i5)
I am an engg student in CS branch and i need a laptop for .NEt and java programming and for entertainment purposes as well(movies, music, games)
I liked HP G6 2005 AX but i am confused whether to go with AMD A8 or to stick with Intel as i am not sure of amd processors and their performance...
Plz help ASAP

i5 has more number crunching power and faster than A8/A10 APU - better would be to get a laptop with i5 quad core cpu and a discrete 3rd party gpu like GT 640m but if you need something cheaper then laptop based on A8/A10 offers overall VFM solution - anyway, do mention your budget to get proper suggestion.

AFAIK u are correct.
@everyone check if one exists with 4 cores.

there are no quad core i5s for laptops. even some i7 (without Q suffix) are dual cores.

yeah, i guess only 7xxx i5 have 4 cores,
and i dont think that it is available in any laptop currently..

my budget is around 35-40K

Just get HP Pavilion G6-2016TX - more processing power and good enough gfx performance @ ~40-42k
for a ~35k laptop look for HP Pavilion G6-2005AX - a little more powerful gfx solution with lesser CPu performance.
