combo drive not writing disc

I have a compaq presario M2000 with widows xp professional installed. When I try to wrie cd, it reports
"Device error: (226051) Could not write to Disc (LBA:-150 Length:26). Power Calibration Area Error.-0x037303"
What is the problem and how to solve it? please help

try burning at a lower speed, use a different media (good quality blank cds)

i think you are using nero. try using some freeware like cd burner xp or ashampoo free version to confirm that your drive is not defective.
