i'm getting this error messages:I don't think one can change the letter representation of the root drive, can they?
DONT DO THIS this can be done only for drives other than the boot partition.. you cant name D as C and vice versa but you can change other logical partitions to IJKLMNOP... etcFollow these steps,
1. Right click on any Partition name on the display under the Volume tab.
2. Click on "Change Drive Letters and Path".
3. After opening this link, a window will appear with the present Drive letter and options button below to change it.
4. Please select change button and select your needed drive letter.
Done.
yes we can...^^^I dunno what you mean but you cant make your other logical partition a boot drive by changing the drive letter...
_
yes I understand what you sayyes we can...
use partition magic...change the drive letter from there....
it will work
for ex:1 have 2 Xp's and one 98...
but i have made changes so that 2 XP's system drive is C: not D: or E:
and i have made the boot partition drive(98 drive) as F:
the most important fact is it's just changing the drive letter not anything else...so there is no change in boot.ini file..
