can audio cassettes be converted into cds? which software is used to do this?
also i wud like to convert my old video tapes into cds. how can do that (software)?

dont know other audio s/w but cool edit is more than good 4 you. b cos it show audio amplitude level at the time of recording.so you can control input audio level at the time of recording

in conversion of audio cassette to cd, quality would be an issue. you wont get cd quality music. if u still wanna do try any listed software.
for conversion of video cassette to cd u need a video conversion/capture card. get it done from market Rs 75 approx. for each cd. Quality will again be an issue. wont get cd video quality.

i tried all these softwares, but there is a hissing noise (loud) in the background always. Audacity's noise reduction is not too good. The noise is removed but i get lots of ghost clicks and jingles in the sound. Can anyone advice on what to do? I have adobe audition 2.0 in our office studio but i am not able to figure out how to use its frequency spectrum features.

configaration--
1.cunnect streo cable 4m player's headphoneoutput to line in in your computer
2.go to sound properties> select recording>select line in
3.If u r s/w need to select the source of recording u may select line in or streo mix.
4.in the time of recording set full volume at u r player carefully control line in volume


I think this gives u the best result .



for convert video use any video card(i use tech com tv tuner)
cunnect u r player with computer via av cable
record it. u must get cassette quality pic and sound
