here is ma config....

amd64 2800+(1.81GHz) @ 2.48Ghz (9*275)
2*512mb ram(pc3200s)
asus k8n mobo

right no my HT link is at 820Mhz which is 20 above the max...... my overclock shows errors after bout an hour on P95 ........ mem freq is below 200 .....

i just wanted to check if the instability is due to the increase HT link...... but to reduce it i have to reduce the LDT right..... it was set at 4X ....... for overclockin i reduced it to 3X ...... i wanted to check with 2X but ma system wont boot if i change it to 2X.....

nd the max HTT multiplier shown in the bios is 9...... there is no way to increase the multiplier right ???? ;)

anyone ??????

Well , thats the reason why people invest on high end mobo's anyway .. with the kind of mobo u have , u really cant have a big room of tweakability while oc'ing ..

Also , i think its not recommended to lower the HT multi to 2x anyway ,,, coz to get to 800 HTT , u'll need 400 FSB , which wont be much stable on ur mobo i think ...

Also , Skt. 754 right ?? In that case , i would strongly recommend u to try and keep ur RAM at 400 ,... coz with ur CPU , RAM working in single channel , u'll need all the mem. bandwidth u can get . U might even wanna consider lowering ur CPU clock a bit if u have to ..

LDT multi will be max 4X in your case and K8N is a very good board for OC.My Hammer had hit 2.5GHz with it.

Also the key with A64 is to maintain the HTT at stock levels. i mean while doing the calculations, keep in mind that HTT must remain around 800 and not be increased. HTT bumps dont help much in case of A64.

Also since you are on Socket 754, those cores werent exactly the greatest ones when it came to overclocking, 2.4-2.5 is awesome.

Increasing Vcore should also help. Keep HTT multi at 3X.

Take care to cool the Chipset as it gets bloody hot.NV chipsets are known to run hot since NF2 days.

Also if your RAM is generic one, there is possibility that the RAM might be holding you back.Increasing VDIMM should help and also loosen the timings.
