Cant install Vista SP1

whenever i try to install the Vista SP1 standalone installer on my Vista RTM installation i get the following error:
"Windows Vista Service Pack 1 cannot be installed because it does not apply to your system"

i got the same error even on a fresh installation.
some1 plz help me so that i can install the SP1.

I think Vista SP1 will not install in RTM or any other product other than the final release.

What is the source of the SP1 ??? if its a came as retail then user ur beta ID to get in touch with microsoft product group...

so please tell me whats the Whats the SP1 source !!!

also hope you are not mixing up the x64 with x86 ...

no i aint mixing up X86 & x64.just view the attachment.it contains the EULA released by ms.SP1 is a 684.711MB dl.i've just integrated it into a Vista Ultimate ISO which i'll try and install later tonight.

if any1 can come up with any ideas to install SP1.....

The file size is correct, but where from u got it? Check the digital signature, since right now it is in very limited beta, it should be signed

i've just installed it in my pc.all i had to do was to set the regional/language settings to English(US) and then the installation went smoothly.

assasin vista sp1 beta was available to select beta testers which leaked to torrents ;)
