no yaar, its not the prob with the cd coz its a fresh cd.everytime it shows different files which cant be copied....dIgItaL_BrAt said:it's a problem with ur installation media i.e ur os cd.Most probably must have got scratched.
ya the cd works well on other systems... i also checked installing into my harddisk frm my friends cd rom... but stil the same problem. some time 3-4 files wil be missing.. sometimes 2.. sometimes 5...different files everytime... i think some thing wrong with my hard disk.. i formated it but it didnt help me at all....satbir said:hey try the same cd on another system........... if it doesn't work.......the cd id faulty......... try another one........... just buying a new cd doesn't ensure that it wud work fine........... writing at faster speeds and using cheaper media can result in skiping of some files while writing........... so get the cd checked.......... if its works fine then its ur CD rom....... quite poss that its not reading the cd properly.....in that case either use a usb pen drive or take ur hardisk to a friend and copy the cd onto ur disk using his cdrom........... that may help.........
i tried from 3 different cds...but the same problem. with one cd i managed to install the O.S but with 3 dll files missing.so the system keeps on giving error msgs while using applications.... i formated my hard disk thinking its bcoz of bad sectors on hard disk but no change.theraven said:AN OS ..? or ANY OS ?
theres a diff
if its just one os then the cd doesnt have the necessary files
if the name of file cant be copied keeps changin the problem lies elsewhere
were u able to install with the VERY SAME CD earlier?
