cant hidden folders

When I open 'My Computer' and click on "Tools>Folder Options>View>Show hidden files and folders" and then click on 'Apply' and 'ok', the hidden folders remain hidden. When I go back to "Folder Options>View" i see that the option is switched back to 'Do not show hidden files and folders'. This happens every time I try to unhide my hidden files.
i have xp sp2 . and mcafee and spybot and windows defendr.. all of them cant detect any threat...
please help

when i opened the regedit.change the values closed regedit... and reopen it. i saw that the values that i changed do not get change...
CheckedValue remains 0 in the show all folder

what to do now
