Cannot load cd driver, Pl help

I am using win2k with sp4 and 865GBF board with p4 2.4 and 512MB Ram.
Everything was working fine till yesterday.From today morning my DVD rom and the CD-Writer disappeared from MY Computer and when I opened the device manager it was showing yellow exclamanation (!) mark on both the drive although in the BIOS they are showing themselves correctly. There is no loose cable or power problem.I have un-installed and reinstalled the drivers with no help. The exact error is given below

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

I donot have any CD-emulator software(Like Virtual CD etc)installed.Both
CD-Writer and DVD Rom are in Secondary IDE(Swapping with primary IDE did not help either).CD writer is LG and DVD Samsung.

Please help.

this happens when U uninstall a software which was using your CD Drive, like iTunes or PCTV Stereo application, it has deleted or curropted the pfc.sys file (Padus CD Drive enumarator)

so far the only method I found is to reinstall windows, or copy the file from another computer in floppy or via net & replace in "c\windows\system32\drivers
