Yes, there is an application called Disk Password Protection. Its trialware. So, you might try it before you buy I use it personally and its GREAT! It mainly hides your drive.
Never play with registry if you are a n00b.
I don't think you can password protect a drive using registry although you can restrict access to it. Looking forward for Vishal's answer.

afaik You can't set passwords to drives using regedit
But u can restrict access to ur drives, so that no1 can open the drives, using regedit
