Can I boot Windows XP from and 80Gb USB HDD?

I guess I can..
But how do I select it from the options list in the BIOS?
I believe there's no USB in the 'Boot' list of the Bios.. :rolleyes:

if ur BIOS doesnt support that option, then I am afraid not possible...

whats the make and model for the board ??

Try and do one BIOS update see if that gives u any hope !!!

as for me I dont thing it will support USB boot in default...!!! :(

Right, in his case i dont think the native Board BISO supported that option, may be better luck with the updated BISO..

OKs .. will try ..

I just saw that (from my motherboard manual) my mobo supports SATA HDDs also!
But ther's a catch!
It says :
1. You must install Win XP SP1 or higher before using SATA drives
2. SATA interface is not supported using Win 98 or NT ..

This means I cannot boot a SATA HDD?

And I have a SATA utility in the ASUS site also..
Any comments?
