can i add a dvd writer on a P-II machine?

i am buyin a new dvd writer
i want to back up all my mp3's on my P-II machine
specs r
P-II 266 mhz
32 mb ram
windows ME

will the pc be able to burn dvd's with 32 mb ram & p-II processor ?
will there be any buffer under run error?
& r there any particular precautions i should take while installing the writer / how should i install the writer(instructions)

i don't think the hardware should have any problem but u won't get the proper software 2 burn the dvd . it's better u plug uer hard disk 2 a frens comp & make uer bakup from there

32 mb ram will have probs writing dvds properly...best is what abhi suggested.

take out the hdd from ur comp...put into a new comp and backup all the data...

ssk, 32 mb ram is not good enuf for dvd burning. look at the booklet for minimum config. i think u need a min of 128 mb ram for dvd burning.

ssk... if u want 2 take only mp3 backup, then why don't u install a cd-writer?

cnt do it as i have 6 gb of mp3
will backup mp3 by transferin hdd
