Why the hell, the forum doesn't have a "Laptop" section ??

Anyways, Planning for a desktop replacement.
Budget 35K-36K (better the lower).

According to my specs requirement and based on reviews of users on different forums, i have shortlisted these :

 Dell Inspiron 15R (T540605IN8) -- Rs. 35,900

 Acer 5740G -- Rs. 36500 (source : npithub.com)

 Lenovo IdeaPad Z560 [59-044906] -- Rs. 36,172

 VAIO E-series VPCEB14EN/BI -- Rs. 38,990

Above are arranged in decreasing order of my priority. The specs of all the above lappies are almost same. Some minute + or - like chiclet keyboard or 2MP webcam etc. But yes, Lenovo one is with bagpack, dont know hows the quality though.

At the respective websites, NO goodies/accessories like bagpack were mentioned.

Now need help to cut down cost. And plz take some time answering these Q:

1. Can i get these without the Win 7 OS ?
2. These all are online prices. Where to find these cheap or at discounted price?
3. Heard that Dell prices are fixed as shown online. Does Purchasing from a dealer increase chances of getting some accessories like bagpack ??
4. Is Acer 5740 G no more available ?? What about its heating issues ?? What about its ASS ??
5. This lenovo laptop is my latest found, just found it while creating this thread. Any reviews ??
It comes with Nvidia GeForce 310M 512 Mb. Read somewhere that its lower on quality than the ATI HD 5470. True ??
6. Any stores where i can get 2-2.5K discount on the last Sony machine ??
7. Which one of these is best for watching 720p movies ?? And sound quality is also a buying factor for me. Though, i m not a gamer but likes casual gaming such as NFS.

I am from Delhi

Personal user reviews are welcome. Any other suggestion with same configuration and budget are also welcome.

Even i am looking to buy a new laptop

VAIO E-series VPCEB14EN/BI -- Rs. 38,990

This is out of stock (this model has been stopped) its replacement is VAIO E-series VPCEB24EN/BI -- Rs. 40,990.

even i was looking to buy VPCEB14EN/BI

Difference between two is the graphics card and processor .

24 has 2.23 GHz and 14 has 2.13 .
24 has Radeon 5145(direct x 10) amd 14 has Radeon 5470 (direct x 11)

Dell Inspiron 15r -- Well its hardly customizable . i tried customizing and only thing i could change was OS (basic to Premium) . Now even dell does not give customization options . Same graphic card 5470 in all inspiron and studio .

Lenovo - Thinkpad was very robust but no idea of present models .
Acer - i have no knowledge

Any body knows what is the cost of Dell extended warranty ( my current lappy is 2 years old and GPU failed ) . Would dell even give an option to purchase warranty ?

This is from a mail sent to my friend for extended warranty of DELL

• Two year Complete Cover: Rs 12,200/- (West Bengal & New Delhi – 12.5 % Duty )
• Two year Complete Cover: Rs 11,950/- (Rest of India – 4 % Duty )
• One year Complete Cover: Rs 7,540/- (West Bengal & New Delhi – 12.5 % Duty )
• One year Complete Cover: Rs 7,400/- (Rest of India – 4 % Duty )

• Two year Next Business Day Cover: Rs 9,700/- (West Bengal & New Delhi – 12.5 % Duty)
• Two year Next Business Day Cover: Rs 9,320/- (Rest of India – 4 % Duty)
• One year Next Business Day Cover: Rs 5,580/- (West Bengal & New Delhi – 12.5 % Duty)
• One year Next Business Day Cover: Rs 5,360/- (Rest of India – 4 % Duty)

The rates are too high...so better to purchase a new DELL laptop online along with this warranty where they give that in discounted price (around 8k for 3 years - Accidental damage warranty).

@akhil, dear kindly open a new thread, don't hijack it :)

Is it really recommendable to buy "extra warranty" from DELL, as repairing from other shop can be a good option- (look from money perspective) ??

Still all questions unanswered.......
where r u guyz.....?? :(
