Samsung laptops are great, the company is doing hard wordk to get in laptop market, providing excellent specs and features. You wont get any core-i5 2nd gen in this budget. It has awesome anti-galre slim LED bazel display and good quality of battery which last upto 6 hours and 1000 cycles. Typical laptop give up uto 3hrs battery backup and 300 cycles of battery. Don't know about service in hassan, its fine in my new delhi NCR.

what about Asus X54C-SX261D, similar specs except for the larger battery and hdd. Can i replace the hdd from these laptops and install ssd. Any trinity based laptop in my price range

Asus is little heavier, glossy screen, no SRS surround sound and probably will have worse display than samsung one.

I don't think their would be any trinity laptop in your budget.

You may be install SSDs by removing DVD drive.

I am going to postpone buying a new laptop for a few months due to financial constraints, maybe by that time ivy bridge will be more affordable, thanks for your suggestions.
