buying console- PS3 or xbox 360 ?? :O

^^^^ i know, but i dont have HDMI port in my LCD, it has only DVI, VGA and 3.5mm jack.

i will use HDMI to DVi cable for video and i am confused how can i connect my 3.5mm speakers to it.

but what about video?? can i just buy a simple HDMI to VGA cable available for Rs350/- at local shops?? or i need a HDMI to VGA converter box ?? costs Rs2k-6k ??

Don't need to spend 2-6K on a converter box, save money & buy the cable.

If you feel hdmi to vga lacks in quality then you can go for other. Else this will suffice
