Buying Advice : Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Nexus ?

Hello mates.
I am going on vacation and i want to buy a new phone. Out of the lot i have pulled out the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
This would be my first android phone. Can you advise which phone should i go for.
Also Will there be ICS and Jelly Bean Update for the S2 ? Having searched the internet many people seem to be divided b/w these two only.
Which phone has better processor and GPU. If anyone using any of these phones could shed some light, it would be great.

Galaxy Nexus is an official Google phone, built to Google's specifications and always the first the first Android updates.


Galaxy S2 is a decent phone having low screen resolution but better camera than the Nexus.

I would choose Nexus, but you have to decide what your priority is...

If you are concerned about updates, then the Nexus is the one to go for. Further with the Svoice in picture, S2 may never get the wonderful Google Now (just speculation on my part)

But still, the native UI of android is definitely much better on the overall feel factor than the S2's TouchWiz.

So in short, Get the Nexus.

WOW .. Nexus seems to be the favorite of everyone. But doesn't the S2 has a better hardware that the Nexus like in terms of Camera, CPU and Support from Samsung? Will it Get ICS and JellyBean which is already available for Nexus.

Support from Samsung ? AYFKM ? I am using SGS & running ICS CM9. Will also be running CM10 JB too. What samsung is giving ? Nothing.

what is the use of that uber hardware when you cant enjoy the latest version ?
I am even ready to get Nexus S against S2. Call me dumb , but ask any power user and you will get same answer.

My idea is to get a pure Android OS and customize it as per needs.


Also, Pure Nexus is much better than ANY phone of same config with custom UI/Skins.

S2 if you want warranty and a a better camera....

I don't actually believe in that 'pure Google' experience but still I'd advice you Nexus. Because with i9100 it's like the slave of Samsung, which i H A T E.

Why don't you get One X or S3, if you are lil bit concerned about the budget then you can get Xperia S.

On all these you will get Jelly beans update.
