Duos is crap better pick Desire X over it.
But if you want some thing and it lasts long as well and is future proof too then extend your budget and get One S for around 22-23k from ebay with manufacturer warranty.

Second that thought...Desire X is cool..
only drawback i found was the lack of secondary cam(verify plz)
and if you extend your budget get desire sv from flipkart @ 22k or one s @ 22k from ebay..

At 17k, Sony offers the best possible value with Sola. Next in line comes Motorola Atrix 2 and Samsung S Advanced. With S Advanced still stuck in Android 2.3 with planned Android 4.1 update but when this update is going to arrive nobody can say but to be safe not in 2012. Also check HTC One V instead of Desire X or Desire V.

and if you extend your budget get desire sv from flipkart @ 22k or one s @ 22k from ebay..

SV is crap. It is a dual core version of One S with crippled hardware. 8MP camera that can record only 480p video (not even 720p). At least S is lot better with only issue being its unexpandable memory.

If your focus is best multimedia experience, albeit with a small screen and older OS, you should go for N8. I'm using it since 2 years now. It has the second largest camera sensor in the market, plus very good music quality. A large support of video file formats. Only drawback is small screen but you can connect it to HDTV's and normal TV's too.

And it is available for 17-18k. No other set can match its camera+music in terms of quality and detail, (except Nokia's own 808 Pureview which costs 27k).

Its camera and flash is amazing, it can capture a moving fan in pitch darkness sharply (and it looks like a stopped fan). I can list many samples or answer queries if you want to know more...

^i wouldn't push anybody knowingly into the symbian ecosystem especially so for a two year old device - n8 ! only symbian worth buying today is 808 that too only because of camera !anyway if you still want to buy a Nokia symbian consider 701 as at least it got latest updates like belle fp2 as opposed to n8 stuck on belle refresh !
don't know why you don't like Sony as xperia P at 17k from ebay would have been a good buy !
and yeah if you could save up 4k - 5k more then go for one s - the international version !

4. Desire X - 4 inch screen 4 inch screen 480X800, 5 MP/480p Video, 1.2 Ghz Dual Core, 768 MB RAM - 18.5K
no front cam, no 720p video recording

5. Xperia Sola- 3.7 inch screen, 480 X 854, 5 MP/720p Video, 1 Ghz Dual core, 512 MB RAM - 16.6 K at Adexmart.
no front cam, 1080p video playback is not smooth,

If you want avoid motorola due to service, choose from Xperia P or S Advance.
