Right off the assembly line
Hey Friends,
I am trying to make and build a gaming PC this year for a budget of Rs. 50k (adjustable to 60k and more on your suggestion).I live in New Delhi currently.
I am confused about certain things and its availability. I have narrowed down a few things and wish to get some recommendations and/or advice on the same. Purpose of the machine is to play high definition games with FPS scores on average around 50-60 FPS at high to ultra high settings.
1. Processor- Intel i7 (if AMD recommend please explain)
2. Motherboard- Unsure. But It should have USB 3.0 support+ports (don't use Firewire) and should essentially have a IGP and Wifi. Budget is adjustable for MoBo.
2. RAM- 8 GB or 4GB X2 (please tell which brand to use and availability)
3. Storage- Atleast 1 TB to 2TB Any brand (don't want SSD)
4. Graphics Card- Must be a Nvidia card atleast 1 GB can't decide on which one to get from the 500 series.Budget can extend upto Rs. 25k.
5. Cabinet- Cooler Master or any brand you recommend for configuration. Price upto 5-6K. Can use ATX form factor.
6. PSU- Must be Corsair 600W (not sure of availability. If Cooler Master please explain)
7. CPU Heatsink- If required what should I get?
8. Monitor- Budget 10-11k. Brand Samsung and or LG. Should have HDMI in/out. Also screen should not reflect stuff on screen. Should be non 3D.
9. Keyboard+Mouse- can't decide which brand to use. Budget 6K-7k which should have both. Will be playing FPS more than RTS or RPG games.
PC Build Questionnaire
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:Games will be everything released after 2006. So Mass Effect, Halo 3, Gears of War, Crysis 1-2, Dirt 1-3. Starcraft 2,
I play all Genres except MMORPGs
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:Rs. 50k-60k. I may upgrade some stuff later on if you recommend buying later
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Not really. If however,Graphics card comes factory overclocked that is fine.
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 (maybe Windows 8)
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:1-1.5 TB. Can upgrade to 2 TB later on
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Will buy. Please mention if a monitor supports upto 1920X1080 resolution. Also please see if said monitor does not reflect a lot of reflection on its screen.
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Do not want a speaker system. Will use Headphones. Using Steelseries 7H with Steelseries Siberia USB sound card.
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Mid year or perhaps later if you suggest reason why.
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes and I can also get it assembled.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:Live in New Delhi. Nehru Place is the place to buy from. Am open to get stuff from Online shops if not too expensive.
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: At home its not possible to get constant AC cooling so I hope recommendations are for hardware that is very resilient to warm atmosphere. At the moment water cooling for Mobo is not an option so please recommend on cabinet and motherboard. I do play games sometimes for upto 3-4 hours straight.
Also I heard somewhere that buying hardware is expensive at the moment so I can wait if you recommend. Also I am interested if you suggest Ivy Bridge Intel processor and/or a new GFX card from Nvidia coming in near future.
Thanks in advance!
