Building a new PC for 65-70 K for vfx

1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A:High end vfx & gaming (not a hardcore gamer though)
2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?

3. What is your MAX budget?
A:65-70 k
4. Planning to overclock?
A:Never
5. Which OS are you planning to use?
A:Windows 7 64 bit
6. How much hard drive space is needed?
A: 1 TB
7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want?
A: 24 inch screen with any recommended resolution
8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)
A:4
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
A:I have assembled one before as it is high end rig i don wanna take risks
10. When are you planning to buy the system?
A:After this weekend
11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?
A:yes atleast for 2 years
12. Are there going to be any components that you don't want to include in this new rig? If yes, do mention.
A: No
13. Which city do you live in and are you open to buying from shops from other city/states?
A: Mumbai

Motherboard ??

Gskill DDR3 RAM 1600 MHZ 8 GB (4GB x 2) -12.4 k (should i go for triple channel RAM ? If so can i put 2 x 4 GB & 1 x 2 GB ??)

WD 1 TB black -5.4 K

DVD writer LG-1k

NZXT gamma - 2.3 k

PSU Silverstone 650 W -6.7 k

Extra fans - ???

ATI HD 5850 DDR5 -16 k (wch shud i get ?? gigabyte ? Shappire ? Asus ? )

Benq 24 inch - 11 k

So suggestions needed for the following :

should i go for triple channel RAM ? If so can i put 2 x 4 GB & 1 x 2 GB or 1 x 4GB & 2x2GB ??

ATI HD 5850 DDR5 (wch shud i get ?? gigabyte ? Shappire ? Asus ? XFX ?)

Extra fans- ??

MB with 4 RAM slots nd maximum PCI slots - around 8 k

MB with 4 RAM slots nd maximum PCI slots - around 10 k


P.S: i am getting my parts in Prime ABGB in Lamington Road so suggest me the best price to bargain !! And i would like to know if any king of shipping facility they offer coz i cannot carry all my parts to my home.

i7 930 supports ddr3 frequencies upto 1600mhz and even more.
gsod stands for "grey screen of death" which haunts ati hd 5 series due the gddr5 faulty memory chips. Ati has released a hotfix in its latest catalyst.

I recommend you to stick with gtx 460 1gb and you can later on sli two 460's which can even beat two 5870's in crossfirex.

hi, 65k is enough money to build a new and high configuration pc, you can build pc more cheap if you go for assembling by yourself.

why are you confusing yourself when you've already got advice on another forum! :|
we have already told you trichannel isn't compatible with 870!
also i would suggest you to go with an IPS LCD Pannel!
