Budget pc under 15k

I need a PC for my father. Please suggest good configuration. I am open to all suggestion. Thank you.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run?
Ans: Net surfing on chrome, ms office (word and powerpoint), daum pot player.

2. What is your overall budget?
Ans: Strictly 15k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 home premium

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 250-500gb

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes I want to buy one, above 15". And resolution above 1280x720

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I dont want to buy UPS, we have home ups, speaker, keyboard and mouse.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Within 2-3weeks

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Will be done by assambler.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Kolkata, I prefer online shopping.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: No

cabinet:any generic cabinet of your choice with psu -should cost Rs 1200 or less.

The aforementioned config will cost slightly more than Rs 15000 but i think it will suffice for your needs.

^ I was compiling somewhat same config: but with a Branded Corsair VS450 PSU @ around 2.4-2.5K as the PSU is the most integral part of a computer.
@ OP: 15K is strictly a too tight budget to get a PC. I think either you'll have to increase the budget by around 3K if not much, or else, settle with some Atom/Celeron processor-motherboard combo (which is also available on Flipkart)

Getting a 500GB HDD for 400bucks much sense too.
If on really tight budget, you can save a bit on RAM by getting EVM 2GB DDR3 stick for just 540bucks. Also you can find BenQ, AOC and Acer LED monitors for 4k locally. But check for warranty. AFAIK only AOC provides 3yrs warranty compared to 1yr of the other two.

* EVM 4GB DDR3 RAM -- 1k
* Acer/BenQ/AOC/LG 16inch LED/LCD monitor -- 4.1k
* Zebronics Deluxe -- 0.8k
* Corsair VS-450 -- 2.2k
Total ---- 18k

If you wanna cut cost you can go with generic 450W PSU.

@OP This rig will be awesome for day to day tasks to gaming. You said you could increase your budget by 2k. Then get a better cabby for the rest 1k like the CM Elite 310.
