Hi Everyone,

I need to build a PC for light home use request you for suggestions.

Ans:Games - AoE, NFS, Civilization 4, Downlaoding -Utorrent, Watching Movies, Microsoft Office

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:20k is budget , can maybe extend to 25k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:Windows XP
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:500gb will do fine but 1 tb is better

Ans:Yes I need a monitor

Ans:Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, Cabinet, UPS

change the motherboard to ASUS P8H61M LE R2.0 ~ 2700.
when you are at it look for P8H61-M LE/USB3(R3.0 B3) same board as above with USB 3.0, if more than 3000 then get the R2.0 version.

Then search for a 6770 if you can find one in budget.
Don't get anything below 6670(ddr5) for that resolution. BTW check the card for ddr5 version people will try to sell you the ddr3 version be careful.

There is no AMD processor that can match the performance of Intel G2010 in that price range. So, Intel is the best option for you.

Went to the shops yesterday.
Checked out E Mall and other adjoining shops in Kolkata, ended up buying from Vedant. The prices and items are as below:

1. Intel G 2010 : Rs. 3175
2. Gigabyte H 61 D2H MoBo : Rs. 3200
3. Cooler Master GX 450 PSU : Rs. 3000
4. Corsair Ram 4 GB DDR3 : Rs. 1900

Will buy the rest of the stuff next month and will then assemble my first PC.
Are there any good guides to assemble PC's you guys recommend. I have come across some on googling. Would those be fine.

regards

INfact CM Gx series are good one:)

It is enough for your config

GX series is good enough.
We dont recomend buying CM PSUs cause most Indian shops keeps the crappy extreame series and the good GX series are way overpriced compared to similar Seasonic / Corsair PSUs.

How come such extreame crap from CM became popular in India and not Seasonic / Corsair ?

I could not find the Antec PSU. Even Vedant did not have it. Plus this CM PSU was 80 + Bronze certified which I assumed would be good enough for me. :-?
I will post a photo of the box tomorrow.
However if suggested I will return it back and get a different one.

Thanks Everyone.

GX series is very good. I was talking about eXtreame series which most shops sell to new buyers & many people have it.
