Budget Android phone for <8K

Looking for a new mobile for my mom.

1. Budget? Rs.8000
2. Display type and size? Touchscreen, 4 to 4.5 inch
3. Dual sim? Preferable, not mandatory
4. Preferred choice of brand? None.
5. What camera option you want (flash, front facing camera)? Both front and back camera with flash
6. Preferred operating system? (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, etc). Android only(KK 4.4 and above)
7. Preferred connectivity options (3G, 4G ready). 2G and 3G
8. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, internet, gaming etc)? Calling and Whatsapp
9. Any specific mobile phones in consideration? None.
10. Any other info that you want to share. a] Need a phone that gives a good grip. Have a Redmi2 that my dad is using but its very slippery to hold due to the curved sides, doesn't give a good grip. I like iphone 4S/5/5S kind of rectangular sides which is better to hold the phone.
b] Battery life should be good >2000mAh
c] OS Shouldn't lag. A Snapdragon chipset phone would be preferable rather than Mediatek

Kindly help.

Honor Holly 2 Plus, Honor 4C, Lenovo A6000 Shot, Lenovo VIBE P1m are your possible options. Though these are 5" phones, you won't find good under 5" phones these days (you already don't want redmi 2 prime)

Re: Budget Android phone for <8K

I will also say that K5 Plus might be a good option.

I too like <5" sized phones. Try getting a Sony Z1 Compact or Z3 Compact second hand

You can find the best gadgets within your budget at Amazon online shop.

Yeah, but which particular mobile is all that I am asking for advice.

It's better to donate that money instead of buying craps from those companies.
I see that you are using honor bee. how is this mobile? call quality, touchscreen smoothness/response.

Second hand are a big no. People tend to offload their such mobile if it has hardware issues in some functionality or the other.

some recent leaks are pointing towards a smaller 4.3" Xiaomi phone. will wait for couple of weeks then.

Its pretty much what you'd expect from a low end device. Lag-free operation and good call quality. I only intend to use it as a backup phone until a good 5" phone with 4k mAh battery, fingerprint sensor and SD 652/820 arrives (Redmi note 3 is out of my list).
