BSNL Problem. Modem spoilt?

My BSNL connection is goinh down with clockwork precision after 8-9 mins. Link is there but data transfer stops. Switching the modem off and then on brings the connection back.

What should I do? Change the modem?

Reset the modem? that might help... put a pin in the hole behind the modem and press till modem lights light up and reset. You need to configure it later via the admin control panel though... dont do if you dont know to configure.

What you describe is a typical BSNL modem problem. They're cheap and give trouble. If reseting as above does not help, try it on someone else's connection and junk it.

A clarification, are you using 2 telephone instruments from the same line ?
