1. Which is the cheapest tv tuner card
available in India?

2. In tv we can set an on timer which does on the tv after specified time and electricity supply is going.
is it possible in computers also that the computer ons itself after a fixed time (electricity supply is going on)?
if possible than how?

3. my friend has a broadband service.
he has modem . i am also having a modem .
is it possible to use share broadband via modem ?.
if yes then how?
he has given me all the permissions to do.

4. how much watt does only the c.p.u takes while running in restart dos mode(do not include other devices such as monitors).

1. I don't know which is THE cheapest, but Frontech makes one of the cheaper internal tuner cards with acceptable quality.

2. One way is Wake On LAN (WOL). Another would be a self-contained electronics timer switch connected in parallel to the power button. A detailed explanation of either one would be too long.

3. I guess it would be possible (though I haven't tried it) using terminal software and the phone line, but the speed advantage of broadband will be lost as it will be limited by the speed of the modems. If you don't live very far apart, it would be simpler and much faster to link up using network cards.

4. By CPU do you mean only the processor or the whole box ? In either case, the power comsumption depends on your config, and only rough indicative figures can be given. The processor alone will use a few watts to a few tens of watts. If you include the motherboard, RAM, graphics card, hard disk, etc., the consumption in DOS mode will range from some tens of watts to perhaps 100 watts, again depending on your configuration.

hey i used to have a frontech card...................................its good to watch casual tv , but capture is good,.....................intex is one more card which is around 1100 ,,,,,,,,,,,

1. Nope wouldnt know anything bout nething cheap stuff(literally speaking i.e. )
2. Oh so many wake up PC freeware around one search and you'll find hundreds but go to Download.com for better versions.

3. You dont even require a modem just a simple lancard and cable ; why complicate life. Plus you never gave distance between your house and his.

Now thats weird question watts a CPU burns "Being penny wise and pound foolish" are we no offense .But Cpu wattage depends Version its Speed that is; The newer version like P4 3.0 and above can really suck up on that power but then it also depends on processing its doing at that very moment so its instantenous too.
