MY COMPUTER HAS WIN 2K PRO INSTALLED

RECENTLY NORTON 2005 PERMENENTLY DELETED THE BRIDGE.DLL FILE FROM SYSTEM32 FOLDER

NOW ON EVERY STARTUP IT GIVES AN ERROR THAT

BRIDGE.DLL FILE NOT FOUND

WHAT IS BRIDGE.DLL FILE AND HOW DO I GET RID OF THE ERROR :roll:

From a quick google search this is what I got

"Bridge dll" is a file put there by spyware. (C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll).
You can delete this file and the "Bridge.ini".

I would suggest you a Spybot S&D & MS Anti-spyware scan which I hope are updated with the latest definitions.Then you could post you hijackthis file here.

To get rid of the problem, follow these steps,
Click Start>Run and type in
regedit
and press Enter. On the left side tree, navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and on the right side, look for the bridge.dll entry and right click it and delete it. Also, like digen said, you can download HijackThis from the link he posted, run the file and copy-paste the log it creates here so we can take a look at it. For more information on using HJT, please refer here:

Thanx

I deleted the registry key and it worked

but now on every start up ,,,,the folder in which I saved the setup files of norton 2005 gets started......... it is not included in system start up nor in scheduled tasks ........
i dont want to delete the file ........

what should I do...........????????????
