.bmp to icons ???

Hi friends
I would like to have a software that can convert .bmp or .jpeg files to icons(.ico)
Can you help?

open bmps in paint...
change attributes...
save as ... *.ico

That's a bit clumsy, methinks. Try Icondeveloper, from Stardock. It's shareware, so if you like it after the trial, cough up. I think it's pretty good. In general though, it's best to convert your bmps into pngs (using something like the GIMP) first.

There are also freeware editors... Check them out at www.nonags.com - got one at *www.softwareclub.ws/icon_editor.html but I havent tried it, so no guarantees...

irfanview is the best. Just open irfanview and press 'b'. select the files, set output directory, select output format as ico and set options and advanced options and you are done.
