Asterisk enthusiast
recently a used my system after some time (2 months)
spec are
p4 208Ghz prescot
OI 865GBF
512Mb dul channel
max 4000 asus agp graphix card
well ventilated case with 3 extra fans
when it booted up it showed on intel active monitor temp of processor zone 127 C, so i immeditly shut it down open it and cleaned it as dust have accumleted it the case
but then agin when i gone to bios it showed the same
so i remoed the heat sink cleadn the thermal paste and put fresh thermal paste
(very thn layer) and reseated the heat sink
now again in bios its showing the same (temp 127 c in processor zone rest all the zone are ok with 38 c) and the fan running 3500 RPM
when i touched the heatsink (when system was running) it was cool
so i went ahed and booted the system
it booted fine and a tryed some aaplets and they also rum fine (though intel active moitor was showing processor zone temp 127 c and fan speed 4000 rpm) then i ran max payne 2 for half an hour and it ran fine
the processor temp is same 127c
now if processor was heating so much i suppose it should hang ??????
so i think its a problem with thermal sensor
so anybody has any idea were it is located i think the dust has accumaleted on it that is why its showing this temp error
or any other suggations for you geeks
the system is running fine in all aspects
