best ssd under 15k?

hello. im looking to upgrade my pc and was hoping that the forum would help me get the best SSD under 15k. i dont know much about setting them up though. is it possible to set up an SSD and an HDD in raid 0 ? im currently using 2 seagate 1 tb HDDs and would like the add the ssd to my setup. thanks in advance for your help :)

It is possible, but not advisable due to various reasons, specially because HDD will hinder the performance. I would advise you to use the SSD as your 'primary' drive, for instaling Windows and Programs, and the HDD for other data.

For the SSD, look at Samsung 840 Pro 256 gb.

If you wanna install many games at once, you can get a larger size. I think samsung released 850 series ssd. If you can wait, then wait for 850 series. Otherwise 840 series is fine. Pro series has 5 years of warranty compared to 3 years of evo.

is that the only difference between evo and pro series? or is there a speed difference as well?

All the reviews on the net are for the 256 gb drive. And a review on the flipkart page for the 128 gb one says its not as good. Dunno how much that should be trusted,but since you have the budget, go for the 256 gb one. Its still 5k below your budget.

There is a considerable speed performance difference between the EVO & PRO series SSD's of samsung.

DIY FTW!
IMO you should wait for 850 series to arrive. It's really a good upgrade over 840 with better speeds, lower temperatures and higher durability.
