I need a shortlist of 4 to 6 Android handsets with quad core processors and 4.7 to 5 inch screen.

It shouldn't get outdated within 1 year. The fact that many new devices are getting released day by day in this segment, makes me wonder about the exact date of purchase but I would like to use the phone for at least 4 years.

The key criteria are:

*Value for money

*Performance,Available internal memory,Speed

*Highest configuration for lowest price

*Availability of support & service centers.

Minimum Configuration:
• 8 MP auto focus camera or above
• 2 MP secondary camera or above
• Rear camera flash(single or dual)
• 1 GB RAM
• 4 GB ROM or above
• FM Radio
• GPS
• 2000 mAh battery or above
• Usable internal memory of 1.5 GB or above

My budget is Rs.10000-20000,but a phone whose cost is below Rs.16000 is preferred. The handset can be of any brand, but should have been tested for quality and reliability. Its rear as well as front camera should be good. It should also be easier to upgrade the Android OS.
I would also like to know about relevant future releases planned this year,in this segment and also
the latest offers pertaining to this segment.

wait for xperia C's release, it looks good on paper... You can consider it as an option if it falls in your budget (which is most likely)..

Note

Please rate the mobile phone which you are talking about on a scale of 1-10.
For Eg. 1 for the worst phone,10 for the best phone,9.5 for an excellent phone.

I would like some moderators and experienced users to reply to this post as it would be useful for many people who are looking forward to buy the best Android phone in the Quad core segment.

If users list their rating of all the phones mentioned above and other phones as a single reply,it would be useful.

Allllright !
I dont understand why OP is hell bent on a quad core chipset. A quad core is not always better than a dual core.

You can take a look at this post by sam for comparison : *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/buying-advice/150741-mobile-buying-guide.html#post1553387

Tegra 3 > MediaTek MT6589. So Xolo T1000 > the rest.

Only in the cases of quad core phones having lesser performance and stability than dual core phones, they are preferred.
But considering the future in mind,I think its always better to go for a quad core mobile which is better than all those dual core handsets out there in the market.

Comment:
I would like some one to technically explain the difference between quad core and dual core and also a list of chipsets along with their ranking based on performance.

just check which processing core is the chipset based around. Cortex A5, A7, A8, A9, A15 or Qualcomm's krait. A5 is the weakest and has such poor GPU that even 720p video or low demand games fail to play. on the other hand, A7 (Cortex A8 is obsolete) is moderately fast and depending on the GPU can crank up some high scores. Cortex A9 (found in tegra3 or dualcore mediatek chipset) is a slot above A7 and twice as fast as Cortex A5 on average. so a quad A5 will only score as much as a dualcore Cortex A9.

a dualcore Cortex A15 or Qualcomm's Krait will beat even quad Cortex A9, forget A7 or A5. for now Cortex A15 is only found in Galaxy S4 or Nexus 10. Nokia's lumia series and Sony Xperia L are the cheapest way to get a Krait processor.
