Use Puppy Linux ---> Puppy Linux Community - Home

Ubuntu running a pen-drive will be slow.

Although imho, burn an Ubuntu CD and use it.

Yeah I used that software a while back, now it doesn't really work like it should. It doesn't save my files, I have to save them to he HDD to access them later (maybe I'm doing something wrong). It works just like a live CD.

yup, this might be true considering Puppy Linux has a dedicated guide for USB boot which doesn't talk about Unetbootlin. *puppylinux.org/main/Puppy430-tutorial-English.pdf
