hey guyz i am planning to upgrade my mobo but i am really confused as there are many many chipsets to choose from. I am thinking of buying a MSI Motherboard , but when i visited MSI's website i got more confused. check this

*www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_list.php?kind=1&CHIP=67&NAME=Socket

They have so many chipsets. Please tell me which is the best chipset to go for a Intel P4 520 (2.8 GHZ , 800 FSB , 1 MB L2) LGA 775 processor. I will be using only windows XP and I have DDR 400 Mhz RAM and a XFX PCX 5300 128 MB card (PCI-E). I dont want to spend on DDR2 RAM.

Also is MSI better or ASUS ? Suggest with prices.

Wait for the 955 chipset mobo to hit the market and then upgrade your setup i think can pull on till then.

i think 955 will only support ddr2 and i dont want to spend on ddr 2 as it costs a bomb.

@grinning_devil
thanx for the link buddy , it gives a complete feature wise comparison..... and ya i am using an Intel Original D915GAV but i read on the forum that it is not a good board for gaming (as i read that boards with onboard grafix are not that good in gaming ) so i thought of opting for an MSI mobo and as i already have a grafix card so i am just looking for a board which will give me sheer perfomance. any suggestions mate ?

if u have a gfx card then why ru changing the MOBO???
iam having the same board...915GAV,with 1 GB of DDR2 RAM,nd for gaming iam using 6800GT 256MB ... so if ur not going to use onboard VRAM,then instead of changing the MOBO go for a gud gfx card...!! :wink:
