.avi starts playing and .mkv stopped

guys, i am having a strange problem with my LCD Samsung 32D550K1R. previously i was not able to play .avi and .wmv files but was going good with mkv, mk2t, mp4 files. yesterday i was trying to play a movie with was .mkv, not played with error "codec not supported". interestingly was tried with .avi file and it works like a charm.

now how is it possible, cause i didn't go for firmware update. i was starts downloading all .mkv files but now its not playing at all. .avi files are working with all subs ext i.e. .sub, .srt

i have got near about 1.5 TB of films and serials which are mainly on .mkv, .mp4, mk2t and .avi

Don't just see avi & mkv as they are just containers find out which codecs does you LCD support.

Try "GSpot" to find out actual codecs of files that worked..

As per my knowledge the LCD which you have got supports all formats.
Contact the dealer or service center for the same.

Another option which you can try out is that you can upgrade the firmware of your television. You can download the latest firmware file from samsung website by finding the model of your TV on the website and then place the update file in the Flash drive or Pen drive.
