Are two or more antivirus programe instaled in XpSP2

Please give me advise that i want to instal Avast Home and AVG Home (both) in one Os(XpSp2) for xtra security.Are this is safe to run both in same time with real time protection.

Never use two antiviruses in the same system as it slows down ur computer and they also loose their security parameteres while fighting with each other.

Dont install 2 antivirus and firewall.
However you must install 2 or more antispyware for better security.

no harm in installing 2 anti-virus softwares at the same time

just ensure that one has only an on-demand scanner (ClamWin) while the other has an on-access scanner (Avast/AVG/KAV/NOD32)

Was it just me or has Norton become so unpopular that it dint even come across my mind while posting
(i had some other AVs also in mind while posting, but did not add them)

nop....not recommended...
i use avast only while i have downloaded the mcafee site advisor plug in for mozilla firefox...which helps me a lot in avoiding infectous websites...and generally the viruses come frm thse only...so in my case thts enuf..
i also have winxpsp2
