are onboard graphics good for gaming?

I have no graphics card at the moment(will get it in october).

I want to know that what all games i can play for now.

Processor : Intel core i5 2500k
Motherboard : MSI Z68MA-ED55(B3)
RAM : G.Skill RipjawsX F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL(2 X 4GB)

@Siddharth_1: u can play old games till 2008 or 2009.
but latest games wont..if if u get them to play then there will be huge FPS drop.
so,a graphics card is recommended always.
how much is the budget?

depends on the monitor resolution. even with HD3000 graphics, to run modern games you need to pull down resolution & also lower graphics.

all COD games will run fine & so will NFS (with graphics details lowered). but what is the resolution of your monitor?

As everyone already said, the answer will depend on what type of game do you play. Are you interested in latest games? or Are you interested in old games?

the only integrated gfx good enough to play games is the one in AMD llano a8-3850.

but processor wise 2500k wins. obviously.

Decrease the resolution while playing PC games to avoid drop of quality.
