Hello,

I am interested in Apple MAC OS X, few of the reasons for which I want to own one is i would working on 2 mejor apps which are known to performe good on MACs... and one of them i think is only for MAC OS :(

1. Final Cut
2. PhotoShop

those 2 software them self are really really costly :( so it lefts me really short of budget for the hardware :(

I presently own a PC Desktop computer, so i was thinking for MAC Mini which is USD 600 may be Rs. 25k !!!

Few doubts I have, if any one can clear that out...

Will normal TFT display (I have one 19" WideScreen) going to work with MAC Mini ?? my display manual do say its compatible with MACs !! :) will my PC keyboard and mouse will work with a MAC ??

Next is when i read the Final Cut studio system requirements it really makes me wonder will i have any chance of running it under MAC Mini ??

I would be glad if some one can clear my doubts !!!

The LCD will run just fine. Even if there's no DVI, Mac mini comes with an adapter for VGA. Keyboard and Mouse need to be USB ones. I'm no expert, but running Final Cut Studio on Mac Mini would be asking too much from it. (Correct me if I'm wrong somewhere)

The end user price of Mac Mini in India is Rs. 31,200 and Rs. 39,700 for the two Core 2 Duo models. You won't get it cheaper than this in India.

for Final cut there is only one doubt and its with the GMA 950 as apart from that MAC mini do saticfy most of the needs !!!

please refer at the Final cut page, *www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/specs.html , as i think it is possible to use normal DDR2 667 MHz RAMs which are Rs. 1600/- at my place with MAC mini so I think i can make add up a GB or extra RAM... as just i dont see GMA 950 no where in that sys requrement page :( does it mean no Final Cut on mini or rather no HD video encoding but Final cut would run as for home / DV video encoding .. ??

Final Cut Studio requires "an AGP or PCI Express Quartz Extreme graphics card". It "is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors".

Which means, it will not even install on a Mac Mini. I'm sorry for you! Why don't you opt for an iMac instead. You can snag it for about Rs. 45,000 from the U.S.A. if you can get an educational discount.

These are the specs, basically:
Processor: 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; 4MB shared L2 cache
Display: 20-inch (viewable) glossy widescreen, 1680 x 1050 pixels
Memory: 1GB (one SO-DIMM); Option: Up to 4GB
Hard drive: 250GB Serial ATA, 7200 rpm; Option: Up to 500GB
Optical drive: 8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB of GDDR3 memory

And it's not too ugly either: :p
