any idea regarding the 940 socket

i was going through the site of msi and i came up with a mother board whcih works on 940 socket K8T Master2-FAR right now i am thinking of going for amd 3500 does this board support it later i want o upgrade to a dual core opteron or amd fx when prices come down and it become avilable in india any idea if this board supports single core amd 64 3500 and is this bord avilable in india even asus have a 940 board and whats its price the writing in the site dint make it clear

AMD introduced the Opteron & Athlon 64 FX on Socket 940.
Socket 940 & Socket 754 were the 2 sockets with which AMD launched the AMD64 chips.

Socket 940 based boards needed ECC RAM.

Now AMD has simplified the socket scenario a bit-

Socket 754 - AMD Sempron will make majority of it

Socket 939 - AMD Athlon 64 / Athlon 64 FX

Socket 940 - AMD Opteron ONLY..from now on.
