12. I want to buy a android smartphone for 40-45k. I have shortlisted the Samsung galaxy note 3, Sony Xperia Z1 and LG G2. Of course there are pros and cons of each.

Note 3 has a brilliant display but the Indian chipset Exynos 5420 Octa is what I doubt. Does it have heating issues? of course I have to sacrifice build quality if I choose this.

Xperia z1 is brilliant in all respects with exception of display which inspite of being good has poor viewing angles..

LG G2 is also good with the snapdragon 800 like the z1 but the firmware updates are really very slow and the interface isn't too good..

I don't want to buy the next flagship like s5 and z2 as they are not very different from their predecessors. Also I guess Samsung india has gone really mad with pricing s5 at 52-53k..

Which one should I buy? Please vote

Out of those three undoubtedly Note 3, if SIZE does NOT matter. Note series are always superiorly optimized than S series to be honest. Note 2 was the most stable phone I have used. Also whoever says whatever, and you also know that, Note 3 display is WAY more superior than ANY display out there at this moment. One HUGE advantage of Samsung over any brand.

Z1, if display is not a factor for you then definitely get this one. Superior build quality (believe me, it matters, unless you are a cover putting guy), might be the better camera (doesn't matter, all the sensors are made by Sony anyway), and it's a Sony after all.

LG G2, no comments.

S5, well I don't know what to say, specifically it's a disaster, but it has 2 GB RAM over 3 GB of Note 3 doesn't mean it will be poorly optimized than Note 3. They just need to optimized their TW framework better, that's all. S5 has even a better display than Note 3. If I had that budget and still were interested in Android I would have got the S5 regardless of whatever people are saying. But if size were no matter, eyes closed, and Note 3. But be remembered, you are giving up on build quality, in favour of faster updates, excellent display and some TW goodies.

PS : Didn't notice the Exynos version confusion of yours. You are right, they heat pretty badly. However I don't know about 5420. I have 5410 on my S4, and it heats really badly, after a 15 minutes phone call, or using it continuously for an hour or so, that's a drawback of this phone. But you ain't gonna get any Snapdragon version over here, so either you have no choice or have to bring one from abroad. Also the Snapdragon versions get much better support in XDA as it's dev friendly than Exynos version. However I will never decide about a device according to dev support.

Though I like the z1 personally I am inclined towards note 3 just because of that brilliant amoled screen..

I am using the s2 and s3 and am just pampered by that display with deep blacks and infinite contrast ratio.

Then go for it mate, a great phone with brilliant display indeed. I would have got one for sure, if it were not for the size.

Best of luck :)

I would recommend waiting for the LG G3, Its rumoured to have a QHD(2560*1440) display

LG D850 has a QHD screen, might be the LG G3 - GSMArena.com news

At present LG G2 has the best display on any smartphone, this is from Thinkdigits own review

******************************************************************************************************

Display: Best in class, by far
LG has packed in a 5.2-inch IPS display in a form factor that most 5-inch phones cannot dream of. Even more important is that the display in question is by far one of the best that's currently available on any available smartphone. The 5.2-inch screen has a pixel density of 424ppi, while the 5-inch screen on the Galaxy S4 has 441ppi. However, the difference isn’t at all noticeable; in fact on the contrary, the G2’s display looks crisper and colours look a lot more realistic. This fantastic display handles HD media playback very well. Like most phones, there are reflective tendencies as well, but the IPS panel affords better viewing angles from the sides as well as outdoors under sunlight.

Among the recent crop of Android phones - the Galaxy S4, the HTC One, the Xperia Z1, this display is by far the best in all regards - crispness, colour reproduction, viewing angles, and legibility under sunlight.

If this is the review of LG G2 imagine how G3 would be like.I wouldn't recommend choosing the Samsung Exynos crap over Snapdragon 800[Samsung cheats customers in India by launching the crappy Exynos versions of their phones in India and not the Snapdragon versions, same is the case with the Galaxy S5 ]
