Guys, AMD has released the 12.1 catalyst preview driver which is gonna be the driving force of their upcoming HD 7000 series GPUs, especially for the GCN based ones. In this major upgrade, AMD finally has addressed couple of things which we wanted to see for long, as well as some new features.
1. At last AMD is providing the feature of creating Custom Application Profile, a long time issue for them. Now we don't need to wait for the CAP profile to be released for a newly launched game; we can tweak it from the Catalyst control center. So the feature of Radeon Pro 3rd party tool is integrated here.
2. Adding the HD3D Crossfire gaming. I think you guys know that with the 11.XX drivers, Crossfire won't work in 3D gaming. But for 3D gaming with the highest details a dual GPU solution is always advisable. So AMD is addressing that issue this time. So some more punch in Crossfire business. HD 6950 2GB in Crossfire can take the glory of 3D gaming from GTX 580 very easily.
It has also many more small updates. Check the Anandtech analysis over here:
