I just Brougt AMD 64 2800+
Asus MB 760Sis Chipset

It Don't Show Any Processor Type (as shown in manual)

And Speed in Mhz is 1814

But I get The formula To convert PR rating in Mhz

Formul a

2800/1.5 + 500/1.5
1866.6+333.3
2200Mhz

So atleast My Mother board Should show 2200 Mhz

What is The Problem

My Motherboard Bios don't HAve any Load Optimized Default etc.

Plz Help

The actual speed in Mhz of the Athlon64 2800+ IS 1800 Mhz! (A few Mhz up n down is acceptable) So you dont have to worry about the speed. 2800+ means that it will outperform a 2.8 Ghz processor from intel. Speed does not only depend on the clock speed. It depends on bandwidth, cache etc.. Dont forget that tha A64 has on-die memory controller!!

Where does is NOT show the processor name?? Try downloading CPUZ from *www.cpuid.org/download/cpu-z-129.zip It will give you the COMPLETE information about your CPU.

but unfortunately AMD 2800+ never outperforms Intel P4@ 2.8 GHz. I have both comps n i can see well how my AMD stucks while playing music+TCC.exe as the ntvdm.exe puts my AMD go down n stuck, stuck n stuck.

This is easy to fix, atleast it worked well for me.
ntvdm.exe sucks up cpu unnecessarily. So, just open up task manager and lower the priority of ntvdm.exe. Now you can do a lot more along with tcpp.

Hey I Cant make up my mind 3000+ or 2800+(754 soc)A 64 ????

Is the 2800+ worth the price of 3000+ is worth it ?

Cheers !!!

If u are going for 754 pin, go for 2800+ only. Just make sure u get a good motherboard. I overclocked my 2800+ from 1800Mhz to 2250 Mhz!! So the 2800+ is very overclockable (provided u have a good motherboard). The 3000+ is not worth the price (only 100Mhz faster than 2800+) Try going for 939 pin, cuz that is the future. Go for the lowest in 939 series, later on u can even upgrade to dual core!
