Amazon Kindle Buying Advice

Well, I could not get it from the US even after numerous chances. So, I've decided to buy it from here itself.

I checked out few sites & the closest price to 139$ I could get was Rs. 8250 (Global Shopping: Buy from International Stores like Amazon, Victoria’s Secret, A|X, Best Buy & many more in India, delivered to your doorstep.). (Inclusive of Shipping charges & Custom duties)

And if I use an ICICI Bank Credit/Debit Card (or Citibank or HDFC), I'll have to pay Rs. 7837.5 only. (5% Discount)

Can I trust Shopyourworld?

Are you aware of any other site where I can get it for lower?

Do you've any idea about the custom duty charges if I buy it from Amazon.com itself? (Shipping is free)

I'm not sure about that, adding the international shipping charges + the custom duties will be a whopping price increase. Plus, the 1-2 months wait. It's just not worth it.

Better buy it from ebay.

Are you sure that the international shipping is free? AFAIK, such orders take more than 1-2 months.

do consider getting "nook simple touch" instead. It costs the same as kindle 3 and unlike kindle is touch screen.

one last advice. the eink screen on both kindle and nook is *very* slow and small. IMHO the screen is completely useless for websurfing. I do own a kindle 3 btw. surfing was a terrible experience on it.

I doubt the websurfing factor here, although kindle undoubtedly is the best ebook reader but it MAY not serve your purposes.

umm... I would just want to check out fb & email! I don't expect much! I can install games & apps like chess, calendar, sudoku, minesweeper, scrabble,etc. Check this out too!

I've bought my Nexus S and Kindle from shopyourworld. They are reliable and support is good. Although, they may take upto a month for shipping.
