Namaste!
I am planning to buy Acer V5-571 from a local dealer. It has i3 3rd gen 2375m, 4 gb ddr3, 500 gb hdd, dvd rw, win8. For 35k
I chkd other brands laptops also at dat shop but none of dem had dis 2375m processor. Most of dem had 3110m or 3217u.
My query - is 2375m an outdated processor? Just thot dat coz y no1 else is giving dat? And wich one of dem is d best - 2375m, 3110m or 3217u?
Also, pls. Suggest any other brand laptop wid d same specs mentioned above in d same price range.
Pls. Recommend models leaving samsung, asus & fujitsu brand.
D laptop is to be used for normal day to day use wid a bit of foto editing work. But, they shud have excellent audio which i liked in ACER V5-571.
Also, is dere any use gng for i5 for basic needs - browsing, movies, fotoshop etc.
I personally assume i3 is sufficient. But, suggestions r welcome. My budget is til 40k. Can go max till 43k.
Pls. Reply.
Thanks!

The processor you mentioned is a SECOND gen processor, its NOT third gen and yes, its largely out-dated. DON'T GO FOR IT!

I don't need Lenovo!

Moreover, m getting 3 yrs Warranty on Acer whereas all other brands are giving 1 yr.

How is Acer E1-572 (i5-4th gen 4200 U, 4 GB, 500 GB, DOS) @ 37k?

I don't know why you hate Lenovo. Other than the warranty, the Lenovo G510 is MUCH better at around the same price.

1) G510 has an i5 4200M as compared to the Acer i5 4200U. U are low-power CPUs and perform much worse than the M range of CPUs. Compare the clock speeds as well. Acer gives 1.6Ghz-2.6Ghz, lenovo gives 2.5-3.1 Ghz. Thats a HUGE power boost. Trust me. Plus, the integrated graphic card of the lenovo is much better.

2) The acer has a U series CPU which should give you more battery life, but it won't, because you only have a 4-cell battery. Lenovo included a 6-cell battery. It will last substantially longer.

3) The screen on the Acer is a TFT with LCD backlight. These screens have lower brightness and contrast as compared to the LED glare screen on the Lenovo.

Other than this, the lenovo comes with original Win 8 as compared to the DOS on the Acer, so you will have to buy windows separately. The Acer has the HM86 chipset, which lets you add only upto 8gb ram, in case you want to upgrade in the future, while the QM87 chipset of the lenovo allows 16 gb.

I see a clear winner here.

If you're worrying about the warranty, let me tell you that warranties are overrated. There's a lot of fineprint involved and they only really cover manufacturing defects, which you're likely to discover within a year. If you find no manufacturing defect in a year, it's unlikely that you'd find one in the remaining two of the warranty period. Meaning, if your laptop survives a year without any inexplicable problem that you didn't cause, then it'll almost certainly go another two years like that.

^Thats just my opinion, don't hold it against me in any way.
