Following is the topology of my network...

Router.PNG

My router gets a IP 202.179.95.240 (DHCP) from my ISP by connecting via PPPoE.
Router Gateway is 175.100.189.10

My PC's LAN ip is set via DHCP to 192.168.1.100 and gateway as 192.168.1.1(Router)

In this case how do I access my Friend's PC and how can he access mine for file sharing.

Prior to buying a router we were connected directly via switch. Now router poses a problem.

Please help...

your friend's pc is getting ip 192.168.18.x & gateway as 192.168.18.1 which should not be so.when a router & switch are connected in series only router is supposed to provide ip address & gateway which in your case should be 192.168.1.x & gateway 192.168.1.1 for all PC in the network.

Ohh got ur point.
But my router IP is assigned by my ISP and will he be able to access my router if he changes his gateway to 192.168.1.1 ? Isn't 192.168.1.1 my router's LAN IP and WAN IP is provided by ISP.

ISP has nothing to do with your router ip which by default is built-in by manufacturer.ISP only assign WAN IP which is different & separate from your internal network.
