I mean can I insert as date wise........I want it like what if I written on 23rd december 2006 should go on 23rd Dec 2006 only I dont want to show that I have inserted that on today 28th May 2007 . how to do that . and I want some privacy that only me and my friends who need to register can read it .

blog is a sort of public diary in which you post something which is interesting for everyone. I don't think it is possible to pre date it, though.

It is like starting a new diary. Any new diary will start from the current year only. Similarly, new blogs can only be started from the current date, AFAIK.

And yes, it is indeed possible to require registration for people to view your blog and you can choose the option of moderating the registrations. At least, it is possible on Wordpress.

i think its possible!
AFAIK, You can enter a earlier date & set who can read them!
Edit
You can enter a earlier date when posting in the "Post Options" just below where you write your post and on the left side of the label button!
and
Go to Settings then permission, there you can choose "Blog Readers-Only people I choose"

Yes, most CMS offer this feature. Wordpress has it too. You can do it from the Write Post page and edit the Time Stamp settings according to your needs.

Go to wordpress.com and start a blog. Welcome to the blogosphere...

Blogger has both predating and reader restriction. My mistake, but then I never felt the need to use it. Do you really need to post all that old stuff? You got to have the patience to enter all that stuff.

hey on a side note, i had a bit of a laugh today after many days with the antics of one of the users in our office. I am a bit giddy with laughter. Have you heard someone backing up all his DVDs, around 20 of them on his hard drive (C Drive actually so that none of his programs start?)
