1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:It would be Games like COD,MW and Fifa Series(old system gave up after fifa 10 and am itching to play Fifa 13 now). Also cad applications(Revit,AutoCAD).

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:35K~40K. NOT exceeding 40K.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:NO.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:Windows 7.

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1TB.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:No. I own a DELL 2020.Supports upto 1600x900 resolution.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Moniter, Speaker and Optical drive(If HDD prices are expected to fall den would keep my old HDD for now).

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:Would like to have all components within a week. But am willing to wait if the prices are expected to dip in the coming month(especially HDD).

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:Yes I have built my own desktop and intend to build this one myself.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:Mumbai.Preferably Lamington road but am open to bying it over trusted sites like FlipKart(Or another good site suggested).

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:I must mention that on reviewing various components on sites and thinkdigit forum I have shortlisted few of those. I need to know if these are good and will I be able to find them locally. Also what I would like to know is whether there is service support for these components in Mumbai.
Here is my shortlist.
1 GPU Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6770 1 GB GDDR5------Approx 7.5K
2 PROCESSOR Intel 3.3 GHz LGA 1155 Core i5-2500K------------Approx 13.5K
3 PSU Corsair - 600W Power Supply GS Series-----------Approx 4.5K
4 HDD WD Caviar Green 1 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (WD10EARX)-------Approx 5K
5 RAM Corsair XMS3 DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (CMX4GX3M1A1600C9)-------Approx 1.5K..........Got prices frm Flipkart & am yet to visit Lamington Road market.
That counts to 32K.
If this configutration is fine kindly suggest a good mobo and Cabinet.
Else am open to other suggestion.
PS.I would like to have my build based on Intel chipset only(So no Amd Processors Plz).

You said that you won't overclock then why i5 2500k?Pick up something like i5 2400 for 10.8k.
Pick up hd7770 in place of 6770.MSI R7770 - 8.1k
If going for i5 2400 then change the RAM to 1333MHz one.Pick Intel DH67CL as motherboard for it.
For HDD go for WD caviar blue or seagate barracuda. For cabinet look for NZXT source 210 elite for 2.6k.

VS450 than 600W psu
i5 2400, and DH67CL are good option
you can lower 1K more in mobo if you are getting gigabyte B75 chipset board which is around 4.4K
ditch idea of HDD -- good move gives you chance to get better gfx card. and that is why I even suggested 1K save in board. though DH67CL is preferred board

First up thanks all for ur replies
U guys made my choice a little easier especially for mobo.
@vkl
I didnt know that I5 2500K is well suited for Over Clocking.Thanks.
Since there is not much difference betn I5 2400 and I5 3450 in pricing do u think I should go with the latter one(as it is the third gen Ivy Bridge).Or even the I5 2500 non K one.
Also I have not recieved favourable reviews abt the NZXT cabinets on this very forum by various users ....Some describing them as simply funky cabinets.....so do I have other options.

@acewin

I know i can get much better GPU's for extra bucks but do u think it would be worth it for a 1600*900 resolution display or should I get one which works fine for ma display. I had previously been here *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/graphic-cards/151004-best-graphic-cards-money-india.html

and it pretty much says that HD 6770 works fine for 1600*900 resolution for most games with high details........dont get me wrong,ur choice is fine ...its just that I dont want to over spend on things.

@Waka
Pick up i5 3450 if the price difference between it and i5 2400 is not that much.
For motherboard look for Gigabyte GA-H77-DS3H@6.8k if going for the ivy i5
Newer games are becoming more demanding.Though hd6770 is fine for the price but hd7770@ 8.1k is a better value.
Hd7770 consumes lesser power than hd6770 but performs much better.
It is not like all cabinets of a manufactures are "funky" and are not good enough.Look for NZXT source 210 elite @2.6k.Good caninet for the price.
You can cut costs by going for cx500v2 or cx430v2 for PSU.

HI guys

I was down with flu so couldnt go to the market.....

But finally have got a quote from a vendor at Lamington road....

Have finalised on the following specs

I5 3450 + Gigabyte H77 mobo ------------- 17000/- (Bugger wasnt ready to provide me individual prices)
Sapphire HD7770 ------------- 9150/-
WD Cavier Blue 1TB ------------- 4700/-
Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz 4GB ------------- 1550/-
NZXT Elite 210 ------------- 2500/-
Corsair VS 450 ------------- 2500/-
Total------37400/-

Another Cheaper option

I5 2500 + Gigabyte B75 mobo ------------- 16000/-
Sapphire HD7770 ------------- 9150/-
Seagate Barracuda 1TB ------------- 4450/-
Corsair 1333Mhz 4GB ------------- 1100/-
NZXT Elite 210 ------------- 2500/-
Corsair Cx 430 ------------- 2400/-
Total---------35600/-

wht do u reckon guys.......Price difference is not much here but if i get quality at low price I would go for the cheaper one........Also have seen few sites dat offer better deals on gpu i.e at roughly 8k price range.......so should i buy gpu online or go for the vendor as he is a trusted one.

Plz reply Asap as i wanna finish dis off this week itself.....

P.S The vendor said HDD prices are expected to drop even further....how true is dat.
